IPTV and Video-on-Demand Interactive Hotel Solution Deployed at the Grange Fitzrovia, Langham and Strathmore Hotels.
Three of the Grange luxury four star central London hotels were due for an upgrade to Sony flat screen technology, the preferred brand in the Group.
Along side this Grange hotels needed an Interactive TV solution that could grow with the group and provide a constantly evolving communication tool between Grange Hotels and their discerning guest and client base.
IP technology was the way to achieve this but the Grange qualifying criteria was very specific:
- No long term tie-ins to service or content.
- The in room and headend and IP Hardware should be separate from but integrate with the Sony Hotel solution.
- The system should be based on open standard allowing input from the grange IT and media departments as the solution evolves in functionality with the bespoke Grange PMS..
Bizstream was delighted to work with the team at Grange. Following successful deployments of coaxial based systems at the Grange group Bizstream has an intimate knowledge of all the sites.
The Networks were in need of significant upgrade to handle the IP multicast traffic.
The Bizstream Installation team as ever rose to the challenge rewiring the Langham hotel internally and reconfiguring the network at the Strathmore. At the Fitzrovia the Bizstream IP over coax solution was employed to avoid extensive rewiring and disruption within the Hotel.
The Hotels are now enjoying the full benefits of the Bizstream Interactive solution.Perfect picture quality on all 40 TV channels throughout the hotel

- A full range of hotel services Including view bill, Express check out from the room, Messaging from reception to the guest

Soon to be launched
- NPVR. “My recordings”, This functionality gives Sky + type feature for the guest.
- EPG. Electronic Program Guide. This allows the guest to see a program schedule and select the program to be watched. It also allows the guest to choose the programs to be recorded.
